Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished corporate story here. We started this shop because the so-called "specialists" in Vancouver were charging premium prices for mediocre work on European imports. That didn't sit right with us.
Back in the day, I was working at one of those big-name dealerships, watching customers get ripped off for basic repairs. My partner Alex had his own BMW sitting in another shop for three months - THREE MONTHS - for what should've been a two-week restoration job. We'd meet up after work, crack open a beer, and complain about the state of the industry.
So we said screw it, pooled our savings, found this old industrial space on Industrial Way, and opened up shop. That was the beginning of what you see today.
"We're not here to sell you stuff you don't need. We're here to fix your car right."
You won't get a laundry list of "recommended services" when you come in. If your brakes are fine, we'll tell you they're fine. Simple as that. We've turned away business because the customer didn't actually need what they thought they needed. That's just how we roll.
We don't rush jobs to squeeze in more customers. Your '67 Porsche restoration isn't getting done in two weeks - sorry, that's just reality. Good work takes time, and we'd rather do it right than do it fast. You'll know the timeline upfront, no surprises.
We explain things in plain English, not technical jargon meant to confuse you. Don't know the difference between a turbocharger and a supercharger? No problem, we'll walk you through it without making you feel dumb. Ask questions, challenge us, we're cool with it.
We stick to what we know - European imports and performance work. Could we work on every make and model? Sure, but we'd be average at everything instead of excellent at our specialty. You want a Toyota serviced, there's plenty of great shops for that. You want your Audi tuned properly? That's us.
No corporate hierarchy nonsense here, just skilled people who care
Lead Technician & Co-Founder
15 years wrenching on German and Italian cars. Started at a BMW dealership, got tired of the corporate BS. Can diagnose weird electrical gremlins in his sleep. Drives a modified E46 M3 that he's been tweaking for a decade.
Restoration Specialist & Co-Founder
Classic car guy through and through. Learned the trade from his dad who restored Porsches in the '80s. If it's vintage European metal, he's your man. Currently restoring a '72 Alfa Romeo Spider in his spare time because apparently he hates free time.
Performance Tuning Specialist
Studied automotive engineering, worked at a racing team, now makes street cars go stupid fast (safely, of course). She's the one mapping ECUs and setting up suspension geometry. Total gearhead who'll talk your ear off about turbo lag and compression ratios.
Diagnostics & Electronics
The computer whisperer. Modern European cars are basically computers on wheels, and David speaks their language. Factory-trained on multiple brands, keeps up with all the latest scan tools and software. Probably spends too much money on diagnostic equipment.
Paint Correction & Detailing
Perfectionist doesn't even begin to describe her. She'll spot swirl marks from across the shop. Trained in ceramic coating application and paint protection film installation. Your car comes out looking better than showroom condition - that's her guarantee.
Shop Manager & Customer Relations
The one keeping this chaos organized. Handles scheduling, parts ordering, and making sure customers actually understand what's happening with their cars. Also keeps the rest of us in line when we get too deep into project rabbit holes.
We're not fancy, but we've got what matters. Six lift bays, proper alignment equipment, dyno access through our partner shop down the street, and more scan tools than we probably need (but hey, European cars love throwing weird codes).
The building itself? It's an old industrial space that we've converted into a proper workshop. Heated floors because working in a freezing shop sucks, good lighting everywhere, and a separate climate-controlled area for paint and detailing work.
We've invested in factory-level diagnostic equipment for BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, and Porsche. That stuff isn't cheap, but it's what you need to properly service modern European cars. Generic code readers just don't cut it anymore.
Fun fact: We've got a small lounge area with decent coffee and a view of the shop floor. You're welcome to hang around and watch us work on your car. Most shops hide the work area for a reason - we don't, 'cause we've got nothing to hide.
